George's with foot and knee pain after
recently being discharged from hospital
his wife Lorraine is with him
okay

today what happened
I'll explain because to his head
operation on his tongue and what was it
trouble with the tongue he had cancer on
the tongue he had cancer so they took it
down today yes I did he was in hospital
for four weeks and his foot swelled up
and his knees swelled up really painful
wasn't it it's nearly four weeks now and
on Friday our doctor said if it doesn't
clear up you should go to a e on Friday
can I have a quick look at the foot
please
Makai
when I first met Terry it was 1961.
I was working in an office in London to
go home I used London Underground and my
friend and I sat down and there was
these two young men sitting opposite us
they were winking and smiled in and
being silly is it hurting on the bone a
little bit and here he got off and came
and sat next to me and started chatting
to me we were laughing and talking and
he asked me for a day
he had nice smile I liked him straight
away
I might just need to do some blood tests
for you just to check for infection and
inflammation
it's so much in common you like to do
the same things
we like to go into Cinemas
listening to music
sharp Scotch Terrace
thank you I liked Mick Jagger for the
rock and roll type of things Terry was
into more of the smooth romantic type of
music Frank Sinatra I'll put a piece of
tape on I think these one should be okay
it's not that plaster Witcher irritate
the skin we've got Martin had children
and now we've been married 57 years
I was determined
him in strong family but Terry
think because of my childhood
right okay okay I'm just going to bring
you for your ex right now when you come
back we wait for the blood resort to
come
then we have to see how it goes please
Terry okay
all right sorry we are yeah
my earliest memory as a child was when
my mother had left a family home and
gone with another man and
I missed her
I was six years old
[Music]
hiya my name is
I'm just going to take you in for your
x-rays okay we just grew up
mum
which was quite hard sometimes we just
need to remove this shoe and suck here
is it all right yeah
let me know if it's pain for you yep
my dad never met anybody else
he was good dad he looked after us all
three of us
so we're going to be doing a couple of
pictures can you bend your foot towards
you no just give it a push if it's
painful let me know okay
when I first got married and left I felt
awful because
he was on his own and so
when Terry and I settled down we decided
if you wanted to he could come and live
with us and he did he was part of the
family
so we're going to do a side picture this
time excellent hide that position Terry
was happy with that
it wasn't perfect always I had their
moments sometimes when television was on
or something didn't want to watch the
same thing okay all finished though well
done
and when my dad towards the end of his
life got ill
we had to do things for inventory helped
we looked after him together okay he was
supportive and a good husband
in a marriage you've got to
know that you're not on your own
because it's everything it's going along
nicely and then something happens life
can be very unpredictable
when Terry was diagnosed with cancer
it was a shock for us both
right
so
he had had cancer four times
and I think as he got over it and was
told okay you're all clear within months
there was another cancer
so that was a real challenge that
he's had a hard time
but because you're not moving about
that he's been a good patient
he's been a really good patient he's
never given in
um
we've
gone through it together as a family
we hope so
I don't think it was even a year after
it was clear this time stomach cancer
that my daughter Christine Sutton doing
the family tree
I did a DNA test
through doing that I found out that the
man who bought me up who was my dad
wasn't my blood dead I had an Italian
father
my dad must have had a hard time
I obviously loved him I feel quite
emotional now
it was quite hard yeah but I could talk
about it with Terry
Terence you're right come in for me
please okay
Terry was very supportive there even
with the cancer I've been really lucky
but Terence I had a look at the X-ray
and the blood
it's all came back normal just a bit of
so it's just an information on the
tendon yeah and it's really hurting
don't get me wrong but it is because of
the inflammation it does take a bit of
longer time to get better are you able
to take Ibuprofen
just try to specific and reduce
inflammation but you need to see your GP
tomorrow because they need to send you
to the food cleaning because sometimes
you know I might need to have a bit of
support up here I think probably Terry
and I have
shared just about everything
I think maybe looking after my dad's
helped a little bit in the early days
to do things together
well thank you very much let me just
grow up take a break
we've supported each other
and we've been happy
